Kaohsiung Harbor Cruise

The Love River has always been the center of downtown Kaohsiung. However, for many years the river was so heavily polluted people could not even walk the banks of the river due to the noxious smells coming from the river. In the past few year, the Kaohsiung city government has taken a very active role in revitalizing the Love River for its citizens. After dredging and renovation, the Love River has become a must-see tourist site for the local people and out-of-town visitors. Drinking a cup of coffee along the banks of the Love River, watching the beautiful scenery and listening to music, have become some of the most popular recreation activities among the residents of Kaohsiung.

On May 16, 2004, the Love River Cruises were first begun allowing Residents and Tourists to sail up and down the Love River and enjoy the romantic nature of the river There are 15 boats altogether and each ship is named after a famous lover. Each tourist boat is capable of carrying 20 people at a time. The boats are painted in the seven colors of the rainbow. The approximate length of the round trip route is 8 KM. These boats are owned and operated by a Kaohsiung City Bus & Ferry Service Administration.

WeeLee ITM is currenly waiting for the permission to begin developing new attractions at several piers along the Love River for the cruise boats' passengers to stop at and enjoy. Presently, we are planning on six different piers. These pier locations are as follows:

1. Kaohsiung District Court Pier
2. City Music Hall Pier
3. Second Canal/Carrefore Pier
4. Museum of Fine Arts Pier
5. Hakka Folk Museum Pier
6. BoAi Pier

These piers will be multi-functional entertainment areas which will include food and beverage service, recreational facilities and retailing businesses. Our goal is to develop the Love River area into the central recreation, leisure and tourist spot in Kaohsiung.
