Chen Family Business Corporate Structure

The third generation of the Chen family is already hard at work.

Ching Nan Chen's younger son, John W. Chen, educated and raised in Taiwan and the United States, returned to Taiwan to work at the shipyard in 2002. He is doing so after ten years of working experience in various top tier international investment banks, trading and making markets in options derivative products, where he acquired the highest title of Director. John is currently the Deputy Managing Director of Ching Fu Fong Kuo Shipyards. He is also the President of Fong Kuo Shipbuilding. He has quickly made the transition from finance to shipbuilding, already taking lessons from his international investment banking experiences to implement new management methods at the shipyards to reduce costs while improving efficiency and quality.

Due to many expansions of the group over the years, in 2005 ground was broken on the group's new corporate headquarters. This new ten floor building will become the head office for all branches of the group. This building was designed by world renown architectural design firm, Richard Rogers Partnership of England. In keeping with our firm belief in preserving the environment and the concept of sustainability, our headquarters will be a smart, green, technology-driven building, breaking new ground in Taiwan's architectural landscape.
