Chen Family Business Corporate Structure

The second generation of Chens, led by Ching Nan Chen, established the Fong Seong Fishing Group. The fleet consists of purse seiners, a 5,300 Ton Reefer Carrier and one 2300 DWT Clean Oil Product Tanker. Impressively, the Chen family has been in the fishery business for almost forty solid years and is a major contender in Taiwan's as well as the world's tuna industry.

In 1989, with already over ten years of shipbuilding experience at Fong Kuo Shipbuliding, Ching Nan Chen, established a new shipyard, Ching Fu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. Ching Fu is the first private shipyard in Taiwan to build international standard product carriers and multi-purpose ships.

Ching Fu built upon its first success and over the ensuing years added to its portfolio of ship types by constructing oil and chemical tankers, cargo vessels, high-tech research vessels and various types of advanced fishing vessels for both domestic and international customers. Furthermore, Ching Fu has gradually built up a close relationship with the Taiwanese Navy. This association includes new buildings for the Navy and Coast Guard as well as repair of military vessels.

In January of 2005 Ching Fu Fong Kuo Shipbuilding purchased another shipyard to increase its capabilities and improve flexibility. Fa Chu Shipbuilding is a shipyard that is entirely allocated to the new building of aluminum boats and super structure such as bridge decks, wheel houses and upper accommodation areas as well as aluminum doors, weather-proof doors and wheelhouse windows.
