WeeLee ITM has been given permission to compile the preliminary studies, market
research and project proposal for a Cableway System which would connect the Kaohsiung
City to the Island of ChiChin. This cable car would cross over at the entrance
of Kaohsiung's harbor. This cableway would give riders a spectacular view of the
beautiful mountains and ocean and harbor areas of Kaohsiung. Furthermore, our
cable way system will link with the city's metro system, to provide a convenient
means of transportation around the city to key tourist areas. At present, we are
proposing six different embarking and disembarking stations to the Kaohsiung City's
Department of Urban Development. These Six Proposed Stops are as follows:
1. ChiChin Beach 2. Kushan Station-Metro Station 3. ShouShan 4.
National Sun Yat-Sen University 5. Shih-Zi Bay (British Consulate) 6.
ChiChin Port The approximately length of the cableway will
be four kilometers. We estimate the time of beginning of construction to be mid
2005 and completion to be mid 2006. WeeLee ITM has engaged the consulting services
of the cableway experts, Skyrail ITM of Australia to prepare studies for our Cross
Harbor Cableway System. Skyrail ITM is doing the an analysis of route options,
overview of environmental factors, preliminary cableway design/costs and detailed
analysis of infrastructure and service requirements. WeeLee ITM is extremely
pleased to be consulting with Skyrail ITM on this project. Skyrail's own cableway
in Cairns, Australia is the most environmentally sensitive cableway project in
the world. The Skyrail project and construction required world first construction
techniques to protect the World Heritage Tropical Rainforest. Please click here
to learn how Skyrail managed to protect the precious rainforest during construction
of their cableway. With Skyrail as our consultants, we are confident that we will
be able to use their proven techniques to construct our own Kaohsiung City cableway
in an environmentally sound manner and protect the natural beauty of our city. |
