These 2100 CBM tuna purse seiners are some of the largest of their kind in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean regions. The benefits of this larger design are many. The larger heliport allows the purse seiner to house even bigger helicopters for longer search operations. The additional room for helicopter maneuvering not only enables the helicopter to deploy at very fast speed but also provides enough safe working space for the ship and the pilot. Net Storage area has also been increased to allow for bigger net carrying capacity. Bigger purse nets also require more efficient and more powerful hydraulic systems, which were fully considered and implemented in the vessel. Furthermore, design lines of this Super Purse Seiner are faired so that it is extreme efficient. Her speed at full cargo load capacity is about 17.8 knots. Thus, while carrying more fish and traveling at greater speed she uses the same size engine and consumes almost the same amount of fuel as smaller vessels. Undoubtedly, this is a great improvement over the previous design. The larger mother ship also allows her to carry bigger skiff boats which also allows bigger net setting operation. The combination of a more powerful hydraulic system and skiff boat permits not only an increase landing per net set but also a greater number of net sets per days. The noise output of her engine is much lower than previous models.
